Metallica at AT&T Stadium: Metallica’s WorldWired Tour 2017 is coming to AT&T Stadium on Friday. The tour, in support of their new album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, marks the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy® Award winning band’s first proper North American tour since 2009. Avenged Sevenfold will be the main support acts for the tour run, including the stop at AT&T Stadium. AT&T Stadium on Saturday beginning at 7:30 a.m. Ticket prices vary.
Dallas Wings vs. New York Liberty at College Park Center: Catch some hoops this weekend as the Dallas Wings will face the New York Liberty on Friday at 7 p.m. at the College Park Center. Tickets begin at $15.
Santa Fe International Folk Art Market: Art lovers will want to check out the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market on Friday and Saturday. The event will occur on The Green at College Park on UTA’s campus. The market will feature 35 master artists and their handmade goods from such diverse countries as Italy, Ghana, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Ukraine, South Sudan, Myanmar, and Peru, among others. Texas Rangers vs Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Park: Make a trip to Globe Life Park in Arlington this weekend. The Rangers will face the Seattle Mariners on Friday at 7:05 p.m., Saturday at 4:05 p.m. and Sunday at 2:05 p.m. Fireworks will follow Friday night’s game. First 15,000 will get a Nomar Mazara Big Chill Cooler Backpack on Saturday. On Sunday, the first 15,000 14 and older will receive a Father’s Day Cheesy Rangers Shirt. Food Truck Fridays at River Legacy Parks: Who doesn’t love grub from food trucks? If you do, food trucks will be at River Legacy Parks on Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. as a part of Arlington Parks & Recreation department’s Food Truck Fridays. This weekend is the last weekend for the series.
Comedian Kountry Wayne at Arlington Improv: Need a good laugh after a long week? On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Arlington Improv in the Arlington Highlands, Facebook sensation turned comedian “Kountry Wayne” Colley will perform six shows. Tickets are $30-$40.
Petty vs Eagles: A Musical Shootout at Arlington Music Hall: Who loves Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and/or The Eagles? Tribute bands The Pettybreakers and The Boys of Summer will entertain the crowds with tunes you’ll love at Arlington Music Hall on Friday. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. Tickets begin at $20.
Make A Splash for Water Safety at Allen Bolden Pool: This time of year, swimming is a popular activities for kids. On Saturday between 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department, with assistance from the Mid-Cities Arlington Swim Team, will offer free water safety lessons and activities at Allen Bolden Pool, (2800 S. Center Street inside Vandergriff Park).
There will be demos with American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors, fun activities, a bounce house, safety related vendors, and a hot dog lunch (while supplies last)!
