Yep. It’s summer, y’all!
And as we move closer and closer to 100 degree temps, one thing’s for sure…
We need to find ways to stay cool.
And if you want to stay cool, you might as well find delicious ways to do so. Don’t you like how our minds work? 🙂
If you are out and about in Arlington and need a tasty way to cool down, here are 5 delicious treats you should try.
Mad Mike’s Ice Cream
Mad Mike’s Ice Cream is a new ice shop in Pantego that is the talk of the town. Started by a married couple who thought they could make a better ice cream, it looks like they’ve reached their goal. Mad Mike’s offers over 20 flavors of homemade ice cream ranging from mint chocolate chip to apple pie. Do yourself a favor and get there asap if you haven’t had the pleasure. You’ll be happy you did. 2304 W. Park Row, Suite 16
Sure, there are a lot of places around town to get a sno cone. But there’s only one we highly recommend. Located right next to Sistah’s, Snowflake Factory has been serving the icy treat for years and we see why. With over 50 flavors to choose from (including pickle juice), cooling down in Texas heat will be delicious. If you’re heading that way, be sure to have cash on hand as they don’t accept credit cards. Open everyday from noon – 9:30 p.m. through October. 1422 W Arkansas Ln.
Located on the corner of W. Park Row Dr. and S. Cooper St., Super Chix has been on the scene for a few months now. It’s safe to say they have won over a lot of Chick-fil-A fans with their take on the chicken sandwich. They have also been winning hearts with their custards. Made onsite, you can opt for simple vanilla or a rotating selection of flavors each day like Mint Oreo and Cookie Dough. Options for additional toppings, mix-ins and shakes are also available. 612 W Park Row Dr., Suite 620.
You don’t have to be a genius to know that Twisted Root Burger Co. is doing a lot right when it comes to burgers. The regional burger chain also knows a thing or two about cool treats. They are making their own custard and root beer. So we think you’d do your body good to stop in and make your own root beer float. Then sit on the patio and do some people watching. 310 E Abram St, #100.
Mochalux Coffee & Tea Co.
Some of us can’t go a day without our coffee fix. If that best describes you, Mochalux Coffee & Tea Co. has several cold caffeinated drink options you’re sure to enjoy. With seven Crème Frappé drinks and any coffee available cold, get the java jolt you need in a cool, refreshing way. 1101 E. Bardin Rd., Suite 101
