UPDATE: The Downtown Arlington Farmers Market is now closed as of April 18.
Call me crazy but when I get the hankering for some fruits and vegetables, I want to get my hands on the freshest stuff I can find. Plus, I believe my wonderful Breville juicer expects and deserves only the best. That means I typically skip my neighborhood grocer and head toward the farmer’s market.
When your lips are puckering for some fresh produce, here’s where you need to go.
Downtown Arlington Farmers Market
215 Front Street is home for the aptly named Downtown Arlington Farmers Market. It’s at this place people come to share their wares, buy some pears (and other produce) and meet other locals. “Farmer Joe” Bruner is the main man behind this produce palace.
As a bonus to the edibles (which extends beyond produce), you can buy anything from jewelry to art to handmade soaps and candles from area vendors. In fact, if you’re a local merchant, you can find information on selling at the market by clicking on the “Vendor Opportunities” tab on the website. You can also get information on all the market’s approved vendors on their site.
Friday and Saturday Market Hours: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
I’m excited to see our fair Arlington has a farmers market locations that provides access to fresh produce and a host of other goods. If you haven’t been yet, make a point to stop by soon. You’ll be happy you did.
