Maybe you’ve heard about these, but maybe you haven’t. Here are three recent recognitions Arlington picked up that are all pretty cool and unique.
Best Water in North Texas
Dasani. Aquafina. Ozarka. Chances are you drink bottled water because of its pure taste. Well guess what? Arlington’s water was recently recognized as the “best tasting surface water” in the North Central Texas Regional School Best Tasting Water contest. The contest was sponsored by the North Texas Laboratory Analyst Section of the Texas Water Utilities Association and occurred May 12-16 at University of Texas at Arlington.
Most Taco Crazed City in the Country
If there’s one thing we love in Arlington, it’s good food. But a food that is especially near and dear to most of our hearts is the taco. Done right, and it’ll blow your socks off. Luckily, Arlington has plenty of great places serving tasty tacos. According to a study conducted by online real estate search site Estately, Arlington is the most taco-crazed city in the country! This study looked at the following:
- Percentage of each city’s restaurants serving tacos (via Yelp)
- Percentage of Facebook users in each city expressing interest in tacos (via Facebook)
- Level of internet searches related to tacos (via Google Trends)
Playful City USA
Parents, we know how important it is for you to live in a city with plenty of fun things to do with kids. You’ll be happy to hear that for the seventh time, Arlington has been recognized by KaBOOM! as a Playful City USA. Created in 1996, KaBOOM! a national non-profit dedicated to ensuring that all children get the balance of active play they need to become healthy and successful adults. The Playful City USA recognition honors cities that take give all kids easy access to a balance of active play in their communities. Big shout out to the Arlington Parks and Recreations department for all of their commitment and hard work.
