This article is the definition of trying to meet our own needs! If there has ever been a topic more discussed in our home than what to do with our kids this summer, I don’t know what it could be!

With the school year ending soon, it’s time to begin thinking about summer camps. We want to find something fun for them to do this summer, right?
A lot of the summer camps and activities are now accepting registrations. Many of the camps fill out fast so it’s best to get started now!
To save you some time, here’s a list of unique and fun summer camps in Arlington you may want to consider for your kids.
Dallas Cowboys Football Academy
Is there a child in your house that absolutely loves football? If so, the Dallas Cowboys will host two summer football camps for students in grades 2-8. The camps will occur at AT&T Stadium from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on June 21-23 and August 6-8. Kids will participate in football drills, receive two tickets to a Cowboys preseason game at AT&T stadium and receive a shirt, backpack and sweatband. Camp registration is $300. Register before May 1 and save $50.
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Camp
Similar to the Dallas Cowboys Football Academy, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders will host a Dance Academy, a cheerleaders camp for for kids ages 6-16 at AT&T Stadium from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on June 21-23 and August 6-8. Campers will learn from and train with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Campers will learn dance routines and team spirit with self-confidence, health, fitness and technical style. An optional halftime performance will be announced. Performing in the halftime will require mandatory rehearsal at AT&T Stadium the night before. Camp registration is $300. Register before May 1 and save $50.
Arlington Parks & Recreation Department Summer Camps
You all know how much we love our parks & recreation department year-round. They do an especially awesome job offering a ton of summer camps ranging from full-day to specialty camps. These camps differ in themes and take place at Cliff Nelson, Dottie Lynn, Elzie Odom and Hugh Smith recreation centers. Prices of camps vary.
Day Camps at Arlington-Mansfield YMCA
The Arlington-Mansfield YMCA will offer half-day and full-day summer camps for Arlington kids. Full-Day camps are available for kids ages 5-12. Each week will have its own theme and includes field trips, arts and crafts, fitness activities, swimming and more. Day camps prices start at $120/week for YMCA members and $180/week for program members. Full-Day camps fun from June 5 – August 18. Half-Day camps are $19/day for ages 3-5 and only available for YMCA Arlington Full Family members from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Several specialty camps are also available.
University of Texas at Arlington Summer Camps
UTA is hosting several summer camps this for children in kindergarten through high school. Camps range from 1, 3 and 5 days. Camp programs include architecture, sports, engineering, health, wellness, arts, music, science and more. Prices vary per camp.
Tarrant County College Southeast Campus Summer Camps
Tarrant County College’s Southeast Campus will host College for Kids, a 3-week summer enrichment program for children. College for Kids is for kids in the 1st through 8th grades. Children can enroll in academic, arts and crafts, science and technology, and health and fitness classes. Courses are taught by faculty who encourage and challenge students in an atmosphere that supports inquiry and exploration. June session is June 12-29. July session is July 10-27. Cost is:
- $200 per half-day session, which is a total of four classes. (Some campuses offer full day, which is $400 for a total of 8 classes)
- $40 for optional supervised activity period
- $10 for supply fees for certain courses
River Legacy Summer Classes
River Legacy Living Science Center will once again offer week-long programs during June and July. The summer programs are available for kids in preschool to 8th grade. Attendees will learn more about nature through curriculum and exploration. Weekly classes cost ranges from $185-$255.
Texas Rangers Camps and Clinics
This summer, the Texas Rangers will host camps and clinics designed for kids to have fun and improve their baseball skills. The three and four-day camps are available for children ages 5-12. The camps occur at the Texas Rangers Youth Ballpark on the north side of Globe Life Park. The first camp begins June 26. Camp prices range from $205-$485.
Theatre Arlington Summer Camp
Theatre Arlington is offering four different summer camps to expose area kids to the world of theater. Children ages 5-16 are eligible to participate regardless of theatre experience. Camp prices range from $250-$575.
