Do You Think Arlington Should Expand Its Public Transportation? [POLL]

Our beloved Arlington.

There is a lot of conversation and activity geared toward improving our city.

We told you about Downtown Arlington’s vision for a better Abram St. In addition, the city recently adopted a new logo and tagline “The American Dream City.”

Yet with all of the talk about improving Arlington, there is always one topic that is met with very different opinions — public transportation.

Now as you may recall, last summer the city introduced the Metro ArlingtonXpress (MAX). MAX is a 2-year pilot program that buses commuters to and from the TRE CentrePort/DFW Airport Station with stops in Arlington at UTA and near Lincoln Square on Collins St.

According to a recent City of Arlington website article, the bus averages 250 riders/day.

Although the program exists, we seen increased discussion in our Arlington Texas Today community about whether or not Arlington needs an expanded public transportation program that helps people get around town.

Some believe it would greatly benefit the city. Others think it would be a bad thing.

So today, since we have an awesomely active and diverse community, share your thoughts! Do you think Arlington would be a better city with a more robust public transportation program? Let us know what you think in the poll below.
